When I was in preschool, my favorite time of day was when I was allowed to draw and paint. As I got older, this love never faded and eventually I went to college to study art. Before finishing, I started a family and raised an amazing daughter. While I did some art during that time, it was when I became am "empty nester," that I began doing more art, having shows and selling pieces. Every piece now is like a new baby. I love every one of them.
I used to only paint with oils on canvas, then I started wall murals. Then I realized we had so many treasures around the house from our many travels and trips and projects that were no longer being used. It was then I decided to create 3D art using recycled materials. Also then I had to learn use acrylics in my work. It was the only way I could use an adhesive to attach my treasures and build new art. I have also learned the joy of using watercolor and wood burning as you can see in my gallery. I now simply follow my joy as to what I use to create my art. I really love all the processes that have emerged. I believe that working in a single medium was restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea now manifests in its own individual style.
I really love trees! I believe they are the antennas of the planet. They are full of energy and majestic beauty. I enjoy traveling and walking in nature in my spare time and many of my pieces are directly influenced by trees and other parts of nature. I am also a sound therapist and spiritual teacher. I love recreating energy, love and divine symbolism in my work.
